Join us in building the energy supply of the future! Become part of our team as a technician for projects ranging from substations (heavy rail and lightrail) to shore power installations. Collaborate to successfully complete projects and make an impact by joining the BAM Infra OV team.

What do you do

As a technician, you’ll contribute to the renovation and construction of traction power supply and low- and medium-voltage installations (up to 10kV). You’ll primarily work on shore power installations, substations, and rectifier stations, contributing to emission-free public transport.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing installation work according to a work plan.
  • Testing installations to ensure proper operation.
  • Monitoring progress, quality, and safety of work.
  • Mentoring colleagues in training and temporary workers.
  • Keeping up-to-date with knowledge and regulations through training courses.

Your work environment

Heavy Duty Charging (HDC) is the team within BAM Infrastructure Public Transport (BAM Infra OV) that deals with heavy energy supplies for heavy rail, light rail, bus, truck and shore power. This team was founded in 2022 to (1) further expand the existing business in the field of energy systems in heavy and light rail and (2) enter the expected new market in the field of energy supply for bus, truck and shore power.

A number of current projects in progress and whether they are going to be implemented:
Current projects include the construction of a new substation in Vught, conversion of four GRS units for RET, a mobile shore power installation for shipbuilding, and installation of a shore power system at the Amsterdam cruise terminal for sea and river cruises.

What do we offer

We provide well-organized work arrangements, including a tablet, mobile phone, and company car for independent work. Additionally, you’ll receive:

  • Salary ranging from 2,600 to 4,080 per four weeks, depending on your knowledge and experience. Based on a 40-hour workweek and excluding 8% holiday pay.
  • Good secondary employment conditions in accordance with the Construction and Infrastructure collective labor agreement, such as a budget for sustainable employability (2,18%), variable compensation, 25 vacation days, 23 schedule free days and 3 short-term absenteeism days per calendar year.
  • Visa (only for EU residents), tax services and housing will be serviced and organized (for a specific period of time).
  • 30% ruling if applicable.

Your skills

You enjoy working collaboratively on exciting projects, and:

  • Completed MBO-3 or MBO-4 education in electrical engineering, installation technology, or similar.
  • Preference: experience with industrial and/or utility low-voltage/medium-voltage.
  • Preference: experience with transformers – 4/5 mVa & 10 kV, and knowledge of low-voltage distribution.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and/or English.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
