Lead Engineer – Project Execution
- Location: Hybrid (Gouda- Netherlands)
- Hours per week: 32 – 40
- Contract Duration: April 2025 – December 2025
- Rate: €80 – €85 per hour
- Experience Required: 7+ years
- Education Level: HBO in Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology
- Language Requirement: Fluent Dutch (B2/C1)
- Travel: Own transport required
My client, a leading energy infrastructure company is seeking a Lead Engineer to support large-scale high-voltage (HV) projects. The organisation is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and expansion of critical grid infrastructure, ensuring a reliable and secure electricity supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities for high-voltage projects, ensuring alignment with scope and technical requirements.
- Develop technical specifications and work packages to guide execution teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, reviewing calculations, drawings, and reports.
- Oversee and coordinate engineering activities, acting as the key technical liaison.
- Collaborate with project teams, lead engineers, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor an internal engineering team, driving technical excellence and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications & Experience
- HBO degree in Electrical Engineering/Energy Technology.
- 5+ years of experience as a Lead Engineer in high-voltage (HV) projects.
- Strong understanding of HV principles, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with complex stakeholders (internal and external).
- Ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Experience with Relatics (preferred).
- Proven leadership and project management skills.

- The role focuses on technical management of large-scale HV projects in a highly complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Less hands-on, more focused on technical strategy and leadership.
- Hybrid working model: 2 office days, 1-2 site visits, remainder remote.
